1. How do I sign up for garbage or recycling service?

Visit Waste Management’s website or call 800.592.9995 to sign up for residential or commercial garbage, recycling or yard waste service.

2. Where can I get rid of Hazardous Wastes (many products labeled: Danger - Warning or Caution)?

You can safely dispose of these items for free - the closest site is at the Auburn SuperMall
(better yet, try safer and non-toxic products instead!)

4. Can I haul garbage myself?

5. Where does my recycling go after it is collected?

7. What is "Waste Reduction"?

Waste Reduction means not making waste in the first place. There are many options to try - and different choices can save you money (& cut your garbage costs) and/or be more convenient.
* Pre-cycling means buying items that can either be recycled after use, and/or have packaging you can easily recycle,
* Bulk buying helps reduce packaging that you have to deal with later (and often is cheaper).
* Be flexible: think of wastes as resources, and try changing habits so you do not create as much waste.

10. I've got lots of batteries - which ones can I recycle, and where?

All batteries: Carbon, Alkaline, Lantern Cell, Button, Lead Acid, & Rechargable (ni-cad, li-ion, etc.) are now accepted at the Auburn SuperMall WasteMobile! No 'charge' for battery recycling! Hazardous Waste Collection - SuperMall
